ABOUT THE ARTIST

Meredyth Kutt (b. 1996) is a multidisciplinary Canadian artist living and operating in St. George, Ontario. Her work focuses on unattainable control and the beautiful mundane. Through an examination of the desire to return to nature in the face of a rapidly transforming, daunting technological future, she depicts subsequent cost of contact; documenting the vulnerable, oftentimes violent negotiations between human systems and the ungovernable natural world. Solitude, neurosis, desires for control, beauty, connection. Through a practice that couples this forensic gaze with a lush, defiantly chromatic palette, she renders these tensions as vivid, enduring encounters, offering a critical, contemporary vision of the Canadian sublime.

She recieved her BfA in Drawing and Painting at OCAD University in 2019.
